For Immediate Release
SUBJECT: Redwood City Police Substation Grand Opening
LOCATION: 1035 El Camino Real, Redwood City
DATE/TIME: September 11, 2025, 11:15 A.M.
Redwood City, CA — September 9, 2025 — The Redwood City Police Department (RCPD), in partnership with Hunter Properties, is proud to announce the grand opening of a new dedicated police substation at Sequoia Station. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 11:15 AM at Sequoia Station, Redwood City.
This new space represents a unique public-private partnership designed to improve safety, increase police visibility, and support the revitalization of Sequoia Station as a destination for shopping, dining, and travel.
“This partnership is a win for Redwood City,” said Police Chief Bell. “By working closely with Hunter Properties, we’ve created a space that not only supports our officers but also strengthens public safety in a way that benefits the entire community.”
The substation will serve as a secure location for officers to write reports, meet with community members, and maintain a visible presence in the area. While not open to the general public and not staffed 24/7, the substation is expected to deter crime, reduce response times, and foster a greater sense of safety for visitors and businesses at Sequoia Station. Community members should continue to call 911 in the event of an emergency, as the substation is not intended to replace traditional emergency response services.
