Thousand Oaks, Calif. – On September 6th, 2025, a DUI/ Driver’s License Checkpoint was held at West Olsen Road west of S. Campus Drive from 8:00 PM to 01:00 AM.
A total of 299 drivers were contacted. Three drivers were cited for operating a vehicle with license violations and two drivers were cited for other vehicle code violations.
(S) Espinoza Garcia, Carlos was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, a violation of VC 23152(a).
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and areas of high traffic accident occurrences. The primary purpose of a DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
