A September 11th Message from Mayor Tom Giordano 
My Dear Neighbors & Friends:
Today, communities like Waldwick are holding ceremonies commemorating the 24th Anniversary of September 11, 2001.
We pray today as a community for all who lost their lives and those they left behind. We pray for one of our own residents, John Griffin, who left home that day and never returned. May his family find comfort in knowing his memory will never be forgotten here in Waldwick.
Today we remember the first responders who perished on September 11, 2001. We honor all those who mobilized within minutes and took part in the largest rescue operation in the history of New York City.
We salute all first responders who serve the public every day, ready to meet any danger to protect human life, and who personify the true meaning of public safety.
May we as a community continue to remember September 11th so that future generations will understand the sacrifices made by so many brave and courageous people.
We must never allow September 11th to become a time for protest and division. Instead, this day must remain a time for promoting peace and mutual respect-Timothy Dolan.

It is our sacred duty to never forget the events that transpired on that day in our country’s history so future generations can be reminded that when Americans from all walks of life unite, we are stronger as a country.
