The New Jersey Division of Taxation is aware that residents have recently been receiving phishing text messages that falsely appear to be from our office. These messages may reference tax matters and often include links or urgent prompts to respond.

Please be advised that these messages are NOT from the Division of Taxation. They do not contact taxpayers via text message regarding their tax accounts, refunds, or any other official matter.

If they receive such a message:

• Do not respond
• Do not click any links
• Delete the message immediately
