Victorville Man Arrested after Leading Deputies on Pursuit in Hesperia

INCIDENT: Driver Arrested for a Warrant After Short Pursuit
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road and 9th Street, Hesperia
SUSPECT(S): Vincent Edward McDonald, 37-year-old Rresident of Victorville
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Thursday, September 11, 2025, at approximately 12:36 A.M., Deputy Steuerwald conducted a traffic stop on a truck and contacted the driver, Vincent McDonald. Steuerwald observed marijuana in the passenger compartment of the vehicle and learned McDonald had an active warrant.
McDonald threw the marijuana out the passenger window of the truck, refused to exit the truck, and demanded a supervisor. As Steuerwald attempted to de-escalate the situation, McDonald suddenly started the truck and drove off at a high rate of speed. Steuerwald initiated a pursuit and caught up to McDonald approximately one mile later. McDonald eventually pulled over and was taken into custody. He was arrested for failing to yield to law enforcement and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
