El Cerrito Police Department crime blotter from August 31st to September 6th

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.
The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from August 31st to September 6th.   
 
August 31st
Recovered Stolen Vehicle- 9989 San Pablo Ave (O’Reilly):
At 4:25 AM, an officer located the victim’s stolen vehicle that was reported to the Oakland Police Department. 

Vandalism – 8100 block of Terrace Dr:
At 6:56 AM, an officer reports unidentified suspect(s) shattered windows of two victim vehicles between 8/30 – 8:00 PM and 8/31 – 4:00 AM.  No known loss.  

Grand Theft – 1600 block of Eastshore Blvd:
At 1:19 PM, an officer reports three unidentified suspects stole a generator.   Occurred around 6:40 AM.

Petty Theft- 6000 Block of El Dorado St:
At 7:00 PM, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole property from the victim’s unlocked vehicle.

Driving Under the Influence/Possession of Narcotics- Arlington Blvd/ Potrero Ave:
At 10:52 PM, an officer located a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway and the driver of the vehicle walking in the roadway. During the investigation the officer determined the driver was under the influence and placed them under arrest. During a search incident to arrest the driver was found to be in possession of narcotics. The driver was transported to the Martinez Detention facility after booking.

September 1st
Tampering with a Vehicle- 3300 Block of Belmont Ave:
At 4:25 AM, an officer was patrolling in the area when he noticed a subject attempted to enter a parked vehicle. When the subject saw the officer he attempted to hide. The officer contacted the subject and placed him under arrest for tampering with a vehicle. The subject was cited in the field and released. 
 
Recovered Stolen Vehicle- 11450 San Pablo Ave(Safeway):
At 5:10 AM, officers received a FLOCK notification of a stolen vehicle within city limits. Officers circulated the area and located the vehicle in the Safeway parking lot. Officer contacted the occupants of the vehicle and took them into custody. After booking, the subjects were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Burglary – 6120 Potrero Ave (Los Moles):
At 7:16 AM, an officer reports unidentified suspects broke a plate glass window on the south side of the business to gain entry.  The suspects stole property from within the business.

Burglary – 9999 San Pablo Ave (Mattress Firm):
At 9:27 AM, an officer reports unidentified suspect shattered a rear window to gain entry to the business.  Occurred overnight between 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM.

Vehicle Theft / Recovered Vehicle – 6600 block of Schmidt Ln:
At 9:42 AM, an officer reports theft and recovery of a vehicle.  Suspect was able to start the vehicle without causing any damage, and drove it to the exit gate.  Suspect was unable to open the exit gate and abandoned the vehicle in the lot.  Captured on video at 2:47 AM.

September 2nd
Vandalism – 1100 block of Brewster Dr.
At 7:04 AM the victim reports that the suspect damaged their Ring doorbell camera.

Theft – 7500 block of Curry Ave
At 3:34 PM, the victim’s property was stolen from inside their residence.

Petty Theft – 3400 Block of Santa Clara Ave.
At 12:59 AM, the victim reported the theft of a backpack from her porch.

Commercial Burglary – 10566 San Pablo Ave.
At 5:20 AM, officers responded to a commercial burglary at the business.  The suspects fled prior to police arrival.
 
September 3rd
Organized Retail Theft – Auto Zone 10650 San Pablo Ave.
At 7:22 AM, three suspects stole merchandise and fled in a vehicle.   

Trespassing and Theft – 3300 block of Carlson Blvd.
At 8:25 AM, the victim reports that a suspect entered the victims backyard and stole items. 
 
Stolen Vehicle – Liberty/Hill St.
At 3:39 PM the victim reported that their vehicle was stolen last night
 
Brandishing – San Pablo Ave / Schmidt Ln.
At 5:56 PM, the victim reported a road rage incident where the suspect brandished a handgun at the victim.

Obstruction – San Pablo Ave / Fairmount Ave.
At 7:29 PM, a suspect was arrested for failing to identify themself after they were identified as being involved in a crime in El Cerrito the previous day.

Stolen Vehicle – 9989 San Pablo Ave.
At 10:35 PM, the victim reported his trailer being stolen.
 
September 4th
Organized Retail Theft – Lucky 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
At  2:03 PM, two suspects stole items from inside the store and fled in vehicle prior to police arrival.

Drug Paraphernalia / Open Container – 900 Block of Kearney St.
At 8:39 PM, officers arrested a subject for possession of drug paraphernalia and open container of alcohol.  The subject was released at the scene on a citation.

September 5th
Auto Burglary – 24hour Fitness parking lot 10636 San Pablo Ave.
At 3:28 PM, the suspect damaged the victims door, entered the vehicle and stole items. 

Vandalism – 400 block of Richmond St.
At 4:27 PM the victim reported that some spray painted graffiti on their vehicle. 
 
September 6th
Stolen Vehicle Recovery – Lucky’s – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 4:55 PM, the victim’s stolen vehicle was located.

Warrant Arrest- 11600 San Pablo Ave:
At 8:49 PM, officers responded to the area for a call of suspicious subjects. Upon arrival, officers located the subjects and discovered one of the subjects had an outstanding warrant. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
