On Saturday September 13, at 9:54am, officers were called to the Rick Husband International airport on a suspicious bag located by TSA. The bag was reported to have tested positive for explosive powder. The airport was placed on lockdown and the APD bomb team responded. They were able to determine the bag was clear and there was no danger to the public. The airport was opened back up around 12:13pm. We understand this caused great concern to all passengers and any traffic in and around the airport. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation while our officers and airport personnel worked through this incident.
