THERE IS NO IMMEDIATE CAUSE FOR ALARM OR CONCERN - simply a public service announcement of a possible smoke condition from a fire that originated in Paterson. The contents of the fire containted magnesium, which can become an eye irritant with extended exposure. Hawthorne, specifically parts of the town off of Wagaraw Road, is within the notification area of this situation. Please avoid extended time outdoors and avoid opening your windows if traversing through the area.
The time frame is unknown as to how long caution should be taken. All updates will be sent out via Nixle as they are received. To reiterate, this is out of an abundance of caution and there is no cause for alarm at this time.
