The City of Oneonta’s contractor, Vacri Construction, will begin construction for Hill Place and Lawn Avenue Water Main Replacement project on Monday, August 25th, 2025. The project is expected to continue through the middle of October 2025. Work includes replacement of the water mains from Church Street to the ends of each of the two streets, new water services to curb boxes and two sanitary sewer manholes.
Work will start with the installation of sanitary sewer manholes at the end of each street followed by installation of the water main on Hill Place and then Lawn Avenue. Work hours are expected to be between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm on weekdays. During the project brief water outages may occur and we will do our best to keep the residence informed ahead of the outage. Once water is restored, water users may experience a brief change in water color and/or pressure. This is a common, temporary occurrence and is not a cause for alarm.
Temporary barricades and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic safely through the work zones.
On the street where the new water main is being installed, there will be no on street parking. Those with special needs should contact the City at the email or number listed below. Please exercise extreme caution and obey all signs and flaggers.
The City will issue periodic project updates or changes via Nixle PSA as needed.
