Narrative:
On September 12th, 2025, deputies with the Moorpark Police Department Traffic Bureau conducted a Driver’s License/DUI checkpoint. The checkpoint was conducted on Spring Road north of Elk Run Loop in the City of Moorpark from 6:00pm until 1:00am.
 
One driver was cited and released for driving with a suspended driver’s license.
 
Five drivers were cited for operating a vehicle while unlicensed. Additional citations were issued for various Vehicle Code violations. A total of 789 drivers were contacted.
 
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.  Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
