Flood Warning until 06:00AM Tuesday

Very heavy rain continues over the Ketchikan area due to an Atmospheric River. The rain is expected to continue through Monday evening before starting to diminish after midnight.

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Near Ketchikan.

* WHEN...Until 600 AM AKDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Some roadways are inundated with water and may not be passable. Area rivers and creek flows are elevated and continue to rise. Storm drains and ditches are clogged with debris. Isolated landslides are possible in areas of steep terrain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 629 PM AKDT, Emergency Manager/Fire Chief reported heavy rain, flooding and brown water in Ketchikan. Flooding is ongoing. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected through late Monday night with the heaviest rain expected to begin ending around midnight. - Local officials ask to stay away from flooded roadways and to find an alternate route.

* AFFECTED AREAS: KETCHIKAN GATEWAY BOROUGH
