On September 18, at approximately 9:20 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Northeast Boulevard in reference to a motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Officers located the pedestrian, a 21-year-old male, who succumbed to his injuries.
Police took the operator of the striking vehicle, 31-year-old Jose Ayala-Medina, into custody without incident.
Ayala-Medina was charged with Vehicular Homicide 2nd, DUI, and other traffic related offenses.
This incident remains under investigation by the WPD Traffic Unit.
