INCIDENT: Home Invasion
LOCATION: 10000 block of Orchard Street, Bloomington
SUSPECT(S): Marcel Smith, 33 years of age resident of Fontana
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at approximately 12:41 AM, Deputy Padilla from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station responded to a 9-1-1 call for service involving a home invasion. The victim was sleeping inside her home with her baby, when she was awakened by a man, later identified as Marcel Smith, who forced his way through her door. The victim began yelling and alerted her husband, who had just arrived home from work.
Smith fled the location on foot and was chased by the victim's husband. The victim provided updates to dispatch, which enabled deputies to locate Smith several blocks away. Smith was taken into custody by Padilla without further incident. Neither the victim, her infant, or her husband were injured during the incident. Smith was transported to West Valley Detention Center, where he was subsequently booked.
