Incident #2025-19270 – Burglary to Motor Vehicle
Date/Time: August 1, 2025 at 11:24 AM
Location: 465 Meadow Road
Reporting Officer: Ptl. Zachary DeMetro #5123

Details:  The victim reported parking her vehicle on July 31st at approximately 8:00 PM and discovering the next morning that the interior had been rummaged through. Items from the center console and glove box were found scattered, and a pocketknife was moved from its usual location. Through investigative means, it was determined that a pair of Prada sunglasses and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen. A detective processed the scene.


Incident #2025-19284 – Shoplifting

Details:  Management reported that on July 27th, a suspect took six LEGO sets valued at $384.94 and exited without payment. Surveillance showed the suspect as a white male, approximately 30–40 years old, average build, with a right arm sleeve tattoo, wearing glasses, a white v-neck shirt, blue jeans, sneakers, and a gray Phillies hat.


Incident #2025-19371 – Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Location: Osprey Way (25000 Building)

Details:  The victim reported parking his vehicle on July 29th at approximately 8:00 AM. On August 2nd, he found the vehicle unlocked with the glove box and center console open and papers scattered inside. Cash was taken. No forced entry or damage was observed.


Incident #2025-19666 – Theft

Details:  A tree service crew reported that a backpack-style leaf blower was stolen between 1:00–1:15 PM while they were working. A witness saw a gray mid-sized pickup truck, possibly a GMC Colorado, make a U-turn and a person exited the vehicle to take the blower before leaving toward Edinburg Road. The blower is a Redmax 8500 marked with tape.  


Incident #2025-19815 – Theft by Deception (Scam)

Location: Chipotle Mexican Grill, Nassau Park Blvd

Details:  An employee was deceived by a scam caller posing as a company representative.  The scammer instructed the employee to withdraw cash from the store safe for a supposed delivery payment. The employee took the cash, left the store and proceeded to a neighboring business where she deposited cash into a Bitcoin machine. Additional personal funds were transferred via a money transfer app. The cash used to purchase and send the Bitcoin was unable to be recovered. 


Aggravated Assault / Simple Assault / Obstruction
Incident #: 2025-19854
Date/Time: Friday, August 8, 2025 at 2:29 AM
Location: Route 1 North and Harrison Street

Arrested: Oliver H. Heck, Dayton, NJ

Details:  On the above date and time, officers were assisting Plainsboro Police with closing Route 1 northbound at Harrison Street due to a fatal crash. While Ptl. Ventura was directing traffic, a vehicle approached and the driver, later identified as Oliver Heck, threw a cup containing an unknown liquid from his car, striking both Ptl. Ventura and another motorist. The suspect fled the scene but was later identified through investigative means.

Heck was contacted by officers and admitted to throwing the liquid, stating he was angry at another driver. He later arrived at police headquarters, where he displayed aggressive behavior and was placed under arrest without incident.

Heck was charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Obstruction, and issued a motor vehicle summons for throwing debris from a vehicle. He was released on a complaint summons with a court date set for September 4, 2025.


Incident #2025-20168 – Arrest on Warrants

Arrested: Megan Slater – Trenton, NJ

Details:  While on patrol, Sgt. Barber recognized Slater, a known shoplifting suspect, and confirmed she had active warrants. She initially provided a false name and attempted to leave but was stopped by assisting officers. Slater was arrested on a $750 warrant from West Windsor and a $550 warrant from Lawrence Township. She was processed and released on her own recognizance with new court dates.


Incident #2025-20182 – DWI / Resisting Arrest
Date/Time: August 12, 2025 at 1:06 AM
Location: US Route 1 / Fisher Place and Wawa, 3499 US Route 1

Arrested: Andrea E. Kortekaas – Elizabeth, NJ

Details:  Officers responded to a report of an erratic driver in a black Nissan Rogue, which had struck another vehicle in the Wawa parking lot. The driver, Kortekaas, failed to stop for police commands and resisted multiple attempts to get her to exit her vehicle by clutching the steering wheel. She was removed from the vehicle and continued to resist arrest. Officers observed signs of intoxication, an open container of alcohol, marijuana, syringes, and other items inside the vehicle. Kortekaas was arrested for DWI, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. She was transported to the hospital for evaluation, processed, and released pending a court date of September 10, 2025. 


Incident #2025-20234 – Shoplifting

Details:  Management reported that on August 5th, a male suspect stole three books valued at approximately $180. The suspect exited the store at 3:03 PM without payment. The same suspect attempted to steal merchandise on August 3, 2025, but was intercepted by an employee. He is described as a white male, 55–65 years old, approximately 5’9” and 260 lbs., balding with gray hair and beard, wearing a navy-blue shirt, dark gray shorts, and black slides.


Incident #2025-20277 – Identity Theft

Location: Police Headquarters

Details:  The victim reported that his identity was used without permission to open a fraudulent auto loan with Chase Bank and a purchase for a 2024 Land Rover Defender in Chicago, Illinois, for $87,541.48 was made. The purchase occurred on June 27, 2025, at Orland Park Land Rover in Tinley Park, IL. The victim is not at a financial loss. Contact information for the buyer was obtained, and further investigative steps were initiated to obtain identification documents.


Incident #2025-20386 – Theft

Details:  A roofing contractor reported that a Hilti impact drill belonging to PB Roofing was stolen from his shopping cart in the parking lot outside the garden center around 8:30 AM. The theft occurred while he was inside the store for approximately 10 minutes.


Incident #2025-20425 – Theft of Motor Vehicle Part
Date/Time: August 14, 2025 at 6:54 PM
Location: Ketley Place

Details:  The victim reported that between August 12th at 7:00 PM and August 13th at 10:00 AM, the radar sensor was stolen from the grille of her white 2018 Honda CR-V while parked in her assigned residential parking spot. The wiring harness was also damaged. The estimated value of the stolen sensor is $750, with an additional $50 in damage. 


Incident #: 2025-20858 – DWI
Date/Time: August 20, 2025 at 6:19 PM
Location: Old Trenton Road and Windsor Road

Arrested: Dominique Bethel, Ewing, NJ

Details:  On August 20, 2025 at 6:19 PM, patrol units responded to the area of Old Trenton Road and Windsor Road for a reported motor vehicle crash. Off-duty Ptl. Hojnacki #590 observed the collision and contacted police. Upon arrival, officers located a black Jeep stopped in the roadway operated by Dominique Bethel of Ewing, NJ. Bethel was argumentative with officers and EMS personnel on scene.

During the investigation, Bethel admitted to drinking earlier in the day and officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. She was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which she failed, and was placed under arrest for DWI. Bethel was transported to police headquarters by Ptl. Schulte, where she refused to provide breath samples for testing.

Bethel was charged with DWI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Test, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, and Driving While Suspended. She was issued summonses with a pending court date and released to family members. 


Incident #: 2025-21025 – Shoplifting

Charged: Michael Yessa, Maple Shade, NJ

Details:  On July 26, 2025, Michael Yessa entered Best Buy and was observed on surveillance removing an HP 27 all-in-one desktop computer. He passed all points of sale without paying and left the area in a silver Infiniti SUV. Through investigative means, Yessa was identified as the suspect and issued a summons for Shoplifting.

Details:  On July 28, 2025, Michael Yessa entered Best Buy, placed an HP 32 all-in-one desktop computer in a cart, and exited the store without paying. He was seen leaving the area in a silver Infiniti SUV. Through investigative means, Yessa was identified as the suspect and issued a summons for Shoplifting.


Incident #: 2025-21027 – Shoplifting

Location: Best Buy, 251 Nassau Park Blvd.

Charged: Michael Yessa, Maple Shade, NJ

Details:  On August 8, 2025, Michael Yessa entered Best Buy, picked up an HP 27 all-in-one desktop computer, and carried it to the checkout area. After paying for a phone case, he left the store with the desktop without rendering payment. He was seen leaving in a silver Infiniti SUV. Through investigative means, Yessa was identified as the suspect and issued a summons for Shoplifting. 


Incident #: 2025-21311 – Driving While Intoxicated / Drug Paraphernalia
Date/Time: August 26, 2025 at 9:45 AM
Location: West Windsor Library, 333 North Post Rd.

Arrested: Richard Bork, 51, Asbury Park, NJ

Details:  On August 26, 2025, officers responded to the West Windsor Library parking lot for a male passed out in a running vehicle. The driver, identified as Richard Bork, exhibited signs of impairment. Drug paraphernalia was observed inside the vehicle. Bork was arrested and transported for medical evaluation and testing. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. He was provided with a future court date at the West Windsor Municipal Court.


Incident #: 2025-21316 – Theft by Deception (Identity Theft/Fraud)
Date/Time: August 26, 2025 at 12:09 PM
Location: Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Rd.

Details:  On August 26, 2025, police responded to Mercer County Community College for a report of identity theft involving fraudulent student aid applications. A suspect used another person’s identity to apply for federal aid, enroll in online classes, and receive two refund checks totaling $4,386. Further investigation revealed fraudulent student loans totaling $6,270 were also taken out in the victim’s name. The investigation is ongoing. 


Incident #: 2025-21388 – Theft
Date/Time: August 27, 2025 at 9:45 AM
Location: Cranbury Golf Club, 49 Southfield Rd.
Reporting Officer: Ptl. Anthony Petracca #5127

Details:  On August 27, 2025, patrol units responded to Cranbury Golf Club for a report of theft of used cooking oil from a secured container. Upon inspection, the seal on a 350-gallon tank was missing, and the oil level was lower than expected. The approximate value of the oil taken was $156. Staff members on scene were unaware of any tampering. The incident remains under investigation. 


Incident #: 2025-21490 – Shoplifting
Date/Time: August 20, 2025 at 6:03 PM (reported August 28, 2025)
Location: Marshalls, 3495 US Route 1

Charged: Kenneth Dunston, Trenton, NJ

Details:  On August 20, 2025, suspects entered Marshalls and concealed merchandise valued at $718.66 in a hamper before leaving the store without rendering payment. Following an investigation and review of surveillance footage, Kenneth Dunston was identified as one of the suspects and charged with Shoplifting. Dunston was also found to have eight outstanding warrants from Trenton and Ewing. A complaint warrant was issued.


Incident #: 2025-21394 – Theft from Vehicle
Date/Time: August 27, 2025 at 10:34 AM
Location: Windsor Haven, Ketley Pl.

Details:  On August 25, 2025, a resident reported that her wallet was stolen from her unlocked vehicle while parked outside her home. The wallet contained identification, bank cards, and cash. The investigation is ongoing.


Incident #: 2025-21502 – Theft by Extortion
Date/Time: August 28, 2025 at 12:26 PM
Location: West Windsor Township Police HQ (report taken)
Reporting Officer: Ptl. Travis Hoffman #5110

Details:  On August 28, 2025, a resident reported being the victim of a scam in which suspects fraudulently claimed she was under investigation for drug trafficking. The victim was instructed to withdraw $30,000 in cash and deliver it to an individual posing as an “undercover officer.” The funds were turned over to the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
