West Springfield, MA: The West Springfield Fire Department is excited to announce its annual Open House, providing the community with a unique opportunity to get an up-close look at the department's operations and meet the first responders who serve the town.
The Open House will take place on Sunday, October 5th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This family-friendly event is free and open to all residents.
"This is a great chance for our residents, especially the kids, to see what we do every day and to learn about fire safety," said Chief CJ Bartone. "It's important for the community to know that we are here for them, not just for fires but for a wide range of emergencies."
Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Get an up-close look at fire trucks, ambulances, a rescue boat, and an ATV.
- View the tools and equipment used in a variety of emergency situations.
- Take a tour of the station and learn about the day-to-day life of a firefighter.
- Watch a live vehicle demonstration with the "Jaws of Life."
- Meet and interact with West Springfield's Bravest.
The West Springfield Fire Department is a public safety agency dedicated to protecting the lives and property of West Springfield residents. Its core mission involves responding to fires and providing emergency services, such as medical aid, rescue operations, and hazardous materials response.
