Three (3) Arrested and 43 Citations Issued at the Redwood City DUI Checkpoint
Redwood City, California – On 9/20/2025, and 9/21/2025 there was one (1) Person arrested for DUI, and two (2) people arrested for Drunk in Public at the DUI checkpoints.
The DUI checkpoints were held at El Camino Real at Carlos St from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Woodside Rd at Bay Rd from 11:30 p.m. to 02:30 a.m.
37 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 6 other drivers were cited for various moving violations. There were eight (8) drivers evaluated for D.U.I, and approximately 700 vehicles were contacted/screened.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of the DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
