Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with a shots fired incident following an investigation.
On September 10, at approximately 9:21 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1300 block of Vandever Avenue, in reference to a shots fired incident with no injuries. The case was assigned to the Gun Intelligence Unit. Through the course of their investigation, members of the Gun Intelligence Unit identified 41-year-old Steven Negron as a suspect.
On September 19, police located Negron in the 1300 block of Vandever Avenue, and took him into custody without incident. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant in that block and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, and a loaded .22 caliber handgun.
Negron has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Discharging a Firearm on a City Street
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was released after posting $2,200 secured bail.
