McDowell EOC Closely Monitors Potential Tropical Storm Imelda
Team members from McDowell County’s Emergency Operations Center met today to review preparations in anticipation of possible impacts from Tropical Cyclone Nine, expected to become Tropical Storm Imelda. This included a coordination call with the EOC's partner agencies Friday afternoon to ensure readiness across all fronts.
"The Emergency Operations Center will continue closely monitoring the system throughout the weekend," said Emergency Services Director Will Kehler. "At this time, there remains a considerable amount of forecast uncertainty. We urge all residents to stay informed by signing up for McDowell County NIXLE alerts, closely monitoring the forecast from the National Weather Service, Foothills Weather Network, or your preferred local media outlet, and watching for additional updates from McDowell County Emergency Management through the weekend."
