The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from September 14th to September 20th.
September 14th
Vandalism – 416 El Cerrito Plz:
At 4:40 PM, an officer reports a suspect damaged the window to the office building.
Warrant Arrest- San Pablo Ave/ Eureka Ave:
At 7:23 PM, an officer noticed a subject he recognized as having an outstanding warrant. The officer contacted the subject and took him into custody. The subject was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking the subject was issued a citation with a new court date and released.
Warrant Arrest- Fairmount Ave/ Lexington Ave:
At 9:17 PM, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested the individual for having two active warrants. The pedestrian was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and issued a citation with a new court date and released.
September 15th
Vandalism- 5600 Block of Pointsett Ave:
At 2:39 AM, an officer located a vehicle with a shattered window.
Robbery – 500 Block of Kearney St:
At 6:03 AM, an officer responded to a robbery that occurred two hours earlier. The suspect entered the residence and began looking into the closet. The homeowner confronted the suspect. Before fleeing from the residence, the suspect physically assaulted the homeowner.
Robbery – 10174 San Pablo Ave (Banh Mi Ba Le):
At 3:26 PM, officers responded to a robbery at the sandwich shop. The suspect entered the business and brandished a firearm at the victim. The suspect then assaulted the victim before fleeing with items.
September 16
Shoplifting – 670 El Cerrito Plaza, CVS
At 2:34 PM, Officers responded to a report of shoplifting. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.
September 17th
Shoplifting – Atlas Liquor 11382 San Pablo Ave
At 4:33 PM, the suspect stole items and fled in vehicle on San Pablo Ave.
Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Ave / Schmidt Ln.
At 1:49 AM, officers arrested a subject for driving while intoxicated during a traffic stop. The subject was placed under arrest, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released on a citation.
September 18th
Shoplifting – 2000 El Cerrito Plaza (Ross).
At 5:57 PM, the suspect entered the business and stole items. The suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival.
Shoplifting / Petty Theft with Priors / Drug Paraphernalia – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway).
At 9:04 PM, officers responded to a theft in progress. Officers located the suspect, and they were arrested. The suspect was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
September 19th
Public Intoxication- 6600 Block of Cutting Blvd:
At 6:42 PM, officers were dispatched to the area for an unwanted subject. Officers located the subject and determined they were intoxicated and unable to care for themself. The subject was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant Arrest/ Possession of Narcotics- Kearney St/ Manila Ave:
At 10:47 PM, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested the subject for three outstanding warrants. During a search incident to arrest the subject was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. After booking, the subject was released on a citation.
September 20th
Warrant Arrest- 10794 San Pablo Ave:
At 8:05 PM, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and discovered the subject had an outstanding warrant. The subject was arrested and then transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking, the subject was released on a citation.
