Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a male adult.
Walnut Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 18000 block of Colima Road regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, deputies located a male adult at the intersection of Colima Road and Jellick Avenue, suffering from blunt force trauma injuries.
The LA County Fire Department responded to the location and pronounced the victim deceased.
Deputies learned the suspect who was armed with a large stick, hit the victim. The suspect was seen leaving the location on a bus which was stopped by deputy personnel.
The person of interest was detained pending further investigation.
