Sections of Springfield Avenue will continue to be closed for roadwork. On Monday, September 29^th, Springfield Ave. will be closed from Tuscan St. to Indiana St. Beginning at approximately 6:00 am, westbound thru-traffic will be detoured along Tuscan Rd. to Valley St.; eastbound thru-traffic will be detoured along Laurel Ave. or Indiana St., along Lexington Ave. to Tuscan St. Traffic will be permitted to cross Springfield Ave. at Tuscan St, and Prospect St. will remain open to crossing traffic until paving operations reach the intersection. Construction is scheduled for weekdays only. 

Springfield Avenue businesses will remain open. Residents can use free public parking in municipal lots at Indiana Street & Springfield Avenue, Hilton Avenue & Prospect Street, Yale Street & Springfield Avenue, and Tuscan Road & Springfield Avenue. Side streets are also available for parking. 

For the afternoon of Monday, 9/29, the Crossing Guard at Springfield Ave. and Prospect St. may be shifted east or west along Springfield Ave to stay clear of the work zone. Staff and signage will be placed to assist pedestrians.

Roadwork is planned to continue on weekdays through Tuesday, September 30^th. Closures will be announced daily here on Nixle.
