Full Notification

On 9/28/25, at about 2250 hours, an SVPD Officer attemtped to stop a vehicle for driving recklessly and blacked out. The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. During the pursuit, Officers attemtped to deploy a spike strip, however it was not successful. LAPD Air Support assissted with the pursuit as it continued through Simi Valley surface streets,  and into the City of Los Angeles via the 118 Freeway. When the suspect vehicle exited Topanga Canyon Blvd and went southbound, SVPD Officers successfully conducted a PIT maneuver, and the driver was taken into custody without further incident. He was identified as Timothy Arthur Jones, a resident of Canyon Country. Jones was arrested for auto theft, felony evading, and several outstanding felony warrants. He was booked at Ventura County Jail.
