Final Update from McDowell High School:
 

Law enforcement has completed a full sweep of the campus and confirmed there is no threat. The lockdown has been lifted, and students and staff are safe.

Last Friday, our alarm company conducted routine maintenance on the system at McDowell High School. This morning’s activation appears to have been related to that work. We are working closely with the vendor to fully resolve the issue and prevent future false activations.

We are grateful for the quick response and support of law enforcement and emergency management. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
