INCIDENT: Fatal crash
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road/ Mesa View Drive, Victorville
INVOLVED PARTY(S): Party #1 - Charles Gilmore, 76-year-old Male Resident of Victorville
Party #2 - Fidelmar Duran Perez, 30-year-old Male Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Monday, September 29, 2025, at about 5:16 p.m., deputies from the Victorville police station, along with Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel, responded to the area of Bear Valley Road and Mesa View Drive, for a vehicle versus motorcycle crash. It was determined a Brown Buick Lacrosse, driven by Charles Gilmore, drove east in the number one east bound turn lane of Bear Valley Road, attempting to make a north bound turn onto Mesa View Drive. A black Yamaha YZF-R1, driven by Fidelmar Duran Perez, drove west in the number one west bound lane of Bear Valley Road, approaching Mesa View Drive. Gilmore turned in front of Duran Perez. Duran Perez was broadsided in the intersection and sustained major injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Duran Perez remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Members of the Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Bear Valley Road and Mesa View Drive were closed for about four hours for the investigation.
