Narrative:
A subject was arrested on multiple charges stemming from a domestic violence incident.
On the morning of October 1st, 2025, Thousand Oaks Patrol Services responded to a report of a domestic violence incident. Following a preliminary investigation, Detectives from the East County Major Crimes Unit continued the investigation and learned that during a domestic incident, Ryan Bloom assaulted the victim, which included Bloom pointing a firearm at her and threatening her.
Through their investigation, Detectives developed probable cause to arrest Bloom for multiple felony offenses. They also determined that Bloom was unlawfully in possession of firearms and ammunition, despite being legally prohibited from owning or possessing either.
A search warrant was obtained for Bloom’s residence to recover evidence related to the crimes. Due to the violent nature of the offenses and Bloom’s known access to firearms, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team was consulted to safely serve the warrant.
The SWAT Team served the search warrant without incident, and the suspect was peacefully taken into custody.
During the search of the residence, investigators recovered multiple items of evidentiary value, including firearms and ammunition. Additionally, several high-value paintings, which were previously reported as stolen, were located and seized. These paintings were stolen from a private collection, and the case is under investigation by the Property Crimes Unit.
Bloom was arrested for the following charges: 273.5 PC- Domestic Violence, 245(a)(2)PC – Assault with a deadly weapon (firearm), 245(a)(4) PC – Assault likely to cause death or serious bodily injury, 422 PC- Criminal Threats, 236 PC- False Imprisonment, 289 PC – Digital Penetration, 29825(b) – Possession of a firearm in violation of a restraining order, 29805(a)(1) PC- Possession of a firearm with prior conviction, 3035(a)(1) PC- Possession of ammunition with prior conviction.
Bloom was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility with bail set at $1,000,000.00. Bloom remains in custody with his arraignment scheduled for October 3, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at the Ventura County Superior Court.
