Meridian Police Arrest Suspect After Hit-and-Run Injury Crash

Meridian, Idaho — On October 2, 2025, at approximately 1:29 p.m., Meridian Police officers responded to a reported hit-and-run crash with injuries in the 2200 block of E. Deerhill Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle with significant rear-end damage in the intersection of E. Deerhill Drive and S. Marsala Avenue. Vehicle debris was scattered throughout the roadway, including parts identified as belonging to a Hyundai SUV. The victim, who had been standing near the rear of their vehicle at the time of the crash, was struck, sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Through witness statements, video surveillance, and physical evidence, officers identified a green Hyundai Palisade as the suspect vehicle. A vehicle matching that description was later located in the 4200 block of S. Glenmere Way, showing visible crash damage.

The driver, identified as Tory SHAY, was contacted and interviewed by investigators. Following the investigation, SHAY was arrested for Idaho Code 18-8007, Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Injury or Death and was booked into the Ada County Jail without further incident.

The Meridian Police Department remains committed to keeping our roadways safe. We take reckless driving, as well as leaving the scene of a crash, very seriously. Our officers will continue to investigate and hold accountable those who endanger the safety of others on our streets.
