Fall Clean-Up: Brush & Leaf Collection Update
It’s that time of year again! Fall Clean-Up season is here, and we want to make sure everyone is set up for success when it comes to brush and leaf collection. Whether you’re raking, sweeping, or building the perfect curbside pile, we’re asking all residents to follow good practices to keep Fair Haven clean, safe, and running smoothly.
October marks Fair Haven’s official Fall Clean-Up effort. During this period, residents may place out brush, leaves, or comingled brush and leaves for collection. For ease of reference, here are several key guidelines—some of which have been recently adopted—to keep in mind:
- 32-gallon containers may be used to supplement curbside piles.
- Brush must be no larger than 3 inches in diameter and no longer than 4 feet in length.
- Please do not place piles over stormwater drains, bike paths, or parking spaces. This helps maintain stormwater flow and ensures streets and walkways stay safe.
- Do not sweep, rake, or blow materials into storm drains or waterways.
- If you need help confirming whether your landscaper is registered with the Borough, just reach out—we’re happy to assist.
- For full details, you can review the BLC ordinance here: Ordinance 2025-14
- Zones 1 and 2: You may place materials out through Monday, 6 October. Collection occurs the week of 6 October.
- Zones 3 and 4: You may begin placing materials out between 6 October and 20 October. Collection begins the week of 20 October.
We’re here to help however we can—to keep properties maintained and cleaned up, protect our stormwater system, and ensure our streets remain safe and walkable for all.
