Police Seek Help Locating Missing 11-Year-Old Newark Boy
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in locating Lushawn Smith, Jr., 11, of Newark, who was reported missing today, Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Lushawn Smith, Jr. was last seen on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in the 100 block of Jelliff Avenue. He is described as African American, 4’10” tall, and 95 pounds. He was wearing black and purple Jordan sneakers. Lushawn is known to frequent Nat Turner Park, 220 Irvine Turner Boulevard, as well as 18th Avenue near Central High School.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Lushawn Smith, Jr., to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
