Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on a gun charge.
On October 2, at approximately 11:56 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop in the 2100 block of North Market Street. Police made contact with the driver – 30-year-old Dewight Anderson – who was found to be wanted out of Philadelphia on an unrelated matter. Anderson was taken into custody without incident, and following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
Anderson has been charged with the following offense in addition to traffic violations and his outstanding warrant:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $2,500 cash-only bail.
