Amarillo, TX– On October 5, 2025, officers from the Amarillo Police Department were dispatched to the 700 block of N. Mirror regarding a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 74-year-old male lying in the northbound lanes of Mirror Street.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the pedestrian was pushing a wheelchair and was crossing Mirror Street from east to west when he was struck by the suspect vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision. Tragically, the pedestrian succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Potter County Justice of the Peace, Robert Taylor, has been contacted and has ordered an autopsy. The incident is currently under investigation by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
The Amarillo Police Department urges anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspect vehicle to come forward and contact law enforcement.
