Needles Sheriff's Station Releases Weekly Report of Calls for Service from September 29, 2025, and October 5, 2025

Between September 29, 2025, and October 5, 2025, deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police conducted multiple investigations that led to the arrest of the following individuals throughout the jurisdiction of the Colorado River Sheriff’s Station:
 
MATHEW BARTLETT, 46 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Monday, September 29, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., deputies contacted MATTHEW BARLETT during a suspect contact call on the 1900 block of Flora Vista. During the call, BARLETT was found to have outstanding warrant for PC532(A)-Theft by Means of False Pretenses. BARLETT was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. BARLETT was later issued a citation and released from the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a future court date.
 
DENISE KALINAOWSKI, 42 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Monday, September 29, 2025, at approximately 1:07 p.m., deputies contacted DENISE KALINAOWSKI during a suspect contact call on the 200 block of Cibola Street. During the call, KALINAOWSKI was found to have outstanding warrant for HS11364(A)- Possession of Unlawful Paraphernalia. KALINAOWSKI was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. KALINAOWSKI was later issued a citation and released from the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a future court date.
 
KENNETH LITCHFEILD, 36 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at approximately 9:15 p.m., deputies contacted KENNETH LITCHFEILD during a pedestrian check near the intersection of B Street and Desnok Street. During the investigation, LITCHFEILD was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for PC 273.5(A)- Corporal Injury to Spouse. LITCHFEILD was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. LITCHFEILD remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
 
DANIEL PONCE, 51 Years Old, Resident of Big River, CA
On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at approximately 8:28 p.m., deputies contacted DANIEL PONCE during a traffic enforcement stop near the intersection of Yakima Trail and Del Ray Drive. During the stop, PONCE was found to be in violation of H&S11377(A)- Possession of a Controlled Substance. PONCE was subsequently arrested, issued a citation, and released at the scene with a future court date.
 
JAMES SATURN, 62 Years Old, Resident of Big River, CA
On Thursday, October 2, 2025, at approximately 2:12 p.m., deputies contacted JAMES SATURN during a traffic enforcement stop near the intersection of Del Ray Drive and Pahaska Trail. During the stop, SATURN was found to be in violation of H&S11377(A)- Possession of a Controlled Substance. SATURN was subsequently arrested, issued a citation, and released at the scene with a future court date.
 
TARRI DISHNEAU, 36 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Thursday, October 2, 2025, at approximately 2:24 p.m., deputies contacted TARRI DISHNEAU during a traffic stop near the intersection of Smith Road and Santa Fe Road. During the investigation, DISHNEAU was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for PC 273A(A)- Child Abuse. DISHNEAU was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. DISHNEAU remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $200,000.00, awaiting a court hearing. 
 
RICHARD HURLEY, 53 Years Old, Resident of Redlands, CA
On Thursday, October 2, 2025, at approximately 10:05 p.m., officers from the California Highway Patrol contacted RICHARD HURLEY during a traffic enforcement stop on the east bound I40 and Water Road. During the stop, HURLEY was found to be in violation of CVC23152(A)- Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and CVC23152(B)-DUI with a Blood Alcohol Level over .08%. HURLEY was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. HURLEY was later issued a citation and released from the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a future court date.
 
 
 
 
VICTOR HERNANDEZ, 31 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Friday, October 3, 2025, at approximately 4:38 p.m., deputies contacted VICTOR HERNANDEZ during a call for service near the intersection of Needles Hwy and K Street. During the call, HERNANDEZ was found to be in violation of CVC20002- Non-Injury Hit & Run. HERNANDEZ was subsequently arrested, issued a citation, and released at the scene with a future court date.
 
RUBEN MEDRANO, 52 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Saturday, October 4, 2025, at approximately 5:41 a.m., deputies contacted RUBEN MEDRANO during a suspect contact call near the 400 block of Merriman Ave. During the investigation, MEDRANO was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for PC3455- PRCS Parole Violation. MEDRANO was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. MEDRANO remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with no bail, awaiting a court hearing. 
 
KENNETH SHAW, 51 Years Old, Resident of Kingman, Az
On Saturday, October 4, 2025, at approximately 9:31 a.m., officers from the California Highway Patrol contacted KENNETH SHAW during a traffic enforcement stop on the west bound I40 near mile marker 129.  During the stop, SHAW was found to be in violation of CVC10851(A)- Vehicle Theft and PC496(A)- Possession of Stolen Property. SHAW was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. SHAW remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $30,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
 
CONFIDENTIAL MALE JUVENILE, 16 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Saturday, October 4, 2025, at approximately 11:49 a.m., deputies contacted a 16-year-old male JUVENILE during a call for service near the 1000 block of Erin Drive. During the investigation, the JUVENILE was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for a probation violation. The JUVENILE was subsequently arrested and transported to the Apple Valley Juvenile Detention Center for booking. The JUVENILE remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Probation Department with no bail, awaiting a court hearing. 
 
MICHAEL HERNANDEZ, 39 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Sunday, October 5, 2025, at approximately 7:05 p.m., deputies contacted MICHAEL HERNANDEZ during a pedestrian check near the intersection of Broadway Street and B Street. During the investigation, HERNANDEZ was found to be in violation of H&S11377(A)- Possession of a Controlled Substance. HERNANDEZ was subsequently arrested, issued a citation, and released at the scene with a future court date.
 
 
The necessity to cite release arrestees is a result of several law changes and voter approved propositions over the last few years. In 2011, Assembly Bill 109 was passed by the legislature. This bill sent thousands of state prisoners to local jails, resulting in county jail overcrowding. Because of lawsuits capping the county jail population, it became necessary to release county jail inmates that were once held in custody. In 2014, the California voters passed Proposition 47, referred to as the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act. This proposition reduced many crimes to misdemeanors such as Grand Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Shoplifting, Forgery, Burglary, and Drug Possession. With a court mandated cap on the county jail inmate population, it is now necessary to cite release certain arrestees to adhere to the inmate population mandates.
