The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will conduct overnight work on 15th Street and Park Avenue as part of the ongoing Rebuild by Design – Hudson River project to prevent storm surge flooding. The work, done in partnership with PSE&G, will consist of the relocation of gas lines in compliance with utility standards while maintaining service continuity.
Work will take place Monday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to minimize daytime traffic impacts. The following road closures and detours will be in effect during these hours:
- 15th Street will be closed between Park Avenue and Willow Avenue
- Park Avenue will be closed to northbound traffic from 14th Street to 16th Street
- Only left turns will be permitted from 15th Street onto Park Avenue
- Northbound traffic should use Willow Avenue between 14th and 16th Streets as a detour route
- Southbound traffic on Park Avenue will remain open and unaffected
Drivers should follow signed detour routes. Hoboken Police Officers will be on site to assist with detours.
