Resident of Chino Hills Arrested for Gross Vehicular Manslaughter After Fatal Traffic Collision

SUSPECT(S): Ethan Ryan Godde, 20-year-old resident of Chino Hills
VICTIM(S): Name Withheld, 29-year-old resident of Whittier
SUMMARY: On Sunday, September 28, 2025, at about 5:48 A.M., deputies from the Chino Hills Sheriff's Station responded to the area of Carbon Canyon Road and Chino Hills Parkway regarding a traffic collision. Personnel arrived and discovered a head-on collision occurred between two vehicles. One driver, a 29-year-old resident of Whittier, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second driver, identified as Ethan Ryan Godde, a 20-year-old resident of Chino Hills, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. Investigators from the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) assumed the investigation and determined the cause of the collision.
On October 6, 2025, investigators arrested Godde for Gross Vehicular Manslaughter, and he was booked into custody at West Valley Detention Center. The decedent's name is withheld pending identification and notification of the next of kin.
