The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
 
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2025:
 
6:35 AM Officer Diaz-Perez investigated a vandalism report near Cedar Blvd & Joaquin Murieta Ave. A 39-year-old male was arrested and transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
9:00 AM Officers were dispatched to a vehicle burglary near Gateway Blvd & Jarvis Ave. A driver reported the door to the vehicle was forced open. Reported loss included multiple packages.
 
11:51 PM Community Service Officer (CSO) Lau responded to a package theft reported near Hickory St & Seawind Way.
 
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2025:
 
12:48 AM Officer Cervantes investigated a commercial burglary near Cedar Blvd & Thornton Ave. The front door was shattered.
 
6:45 AM Officers investigated multiple reports of vehicle burglaries. In each case, the suspects pried off door handles and forced entry through the vehicle locks. Reported losses included miscellaneous documents, wallets, and other valuables left inside the vehicles.
 
9:00 AM Officer Orozco responded to a disturbance reported near Jarvis Ave & Lido Blvd. A 20-year-old male was arrested for domestic violence and was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
1:56 PM Officer Pacheco performed a pedestrian stop near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 35-year-old female was arrested for several outstanding warrants. She was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
7:34 PM Officer Cervantes investigated a vehicle burglary reported near Cedar Blvd & Haley St. Reported loss included documents and cash left in the vehicle.
 
9:01 PM Officers investigated multiple vehicle burglaries reported near Mowry Ave & Cedar Blvd. Backpacks containing electronics and other valuables were taken from the vehicles. 
 
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2025:
 
8:16 PM Officer Dale responded to a disturbance reported near Central Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 33-year-old male was arrested for theft, possession of narcotics and violation of probation. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
11:04 PM Officer Shaffer responded to an aggravated assault with a firearm reported near Cherry St & Thornton Ave.
 
6:43 PM Officer Dale investigated a commercial burglary reported near Cedar Blvd & Smith Ave.
 
9:47 PM Officer Dale investigated a mail theft reported near Enterprise Dr & Hickory St.
 
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2025:
 
1:19 AM Officer Lor investigated a vehicle burglary on Newpark Mall Road.
 
1:54 AM Officer Dale initiated a vehicle check on Newpark Mall Road. A 22-year-old male was cited for an outstanding warrant.
 
8:45 PM Officer Berlanga responded to a domestic violence incident reported near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 47-year-old female was arrested for domestic battery and was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
9:34 PM Officer Orozco conducted a traffic stop on Mayhews Landing Road. A 35-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication. He was transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
3:19 PM CSO Mora responded to a report of a vehicle burglary near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd. A bag containing electronics and documents was reported to be taken from the vehicle.
 
4:43 PM CSO Mora investigated a package theft and credit card fraud report near Enterprise Dr & Hickory St.
 
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2025:
 
10:08 AM Officer C. Torres responded to a report of a suspicious person near Cedar & Lake Boulevards. A 36-year-old male was arrested for residential burglary, possession of narcotics, and an outstanding warrant for burglary. He was transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
1:47 PM Officer Shaffer responded to a battery report on Mayhews Landing Road. A 76-year-old male was cited for the battery.
 
4:10 PM CSO Mora investigated a mail theft report near Cherry St & Stevenson Blvd.
 
7:08 PM Officer Orozco responded to a disturbance reported near Mowry Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 27-year-old female was arrested for domestic violence and was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
11:02 PM Officer Stevenson responded to a vehicle burglary reported near Balentine Dr & Mowry School Road. Reported loss included a purse containing a wallet and other personal items.
 
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2025:
 
3:57 AM Officer Orozco conducted a vehicle stop near Spruce St & Bridgepointe Dr. A 49-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated and was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
6:46 AM Officer Diaz-Perez investigated a vehicle burglary reported on Newpark Mall Road. The loss is currently unknown.
 
7:59 AM Officer Lomeli responded to a dog bite reported near Cedar Blvd & Joaquin Murieta Ave.
 
8:10 AM Officer Lomeli responded to a disturbance near Cedar Blvd & Stevenson Blvd. A 43-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants. He was transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
10:42 PM Officer Stevenson conducted a traffic stop near Milani Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 28-year-old female was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She was transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2025:
 
1:11 AM Officer Stevenson responded to disturbance reported near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 50-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication and was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
8:00 AM Officers investigated several vehicle burglaries in the area of Cedar Blvd & Haley St. The investigations are currently ongoing.
 
12:25 PM Officer Diaz-Perez responded to a residential burglary reported near Central Ave & Cherry St. Entry was gained through a window.
 
12:40 PM Officer Jackman recovered a stolen vehicle from the area of Saint Mark Ave & Cedar Blvd.
 
8:48 PM CSO Vuong investigated several package thefts reported near Joaquin Murieta Ave & Cherry St.
