Meridian Police Arrest Suspect Following Narcotics Trafficking Investigation
MERIDIAN, ID – On October 6, 2025, Meridian Police attempted to stop a red 2020 Nissan Maxima, driven by 29-year-old Simon Waters for a traffic lane violation. WATTERS fled from officers at a high rate of speed.
Patrol units lost sight of the vehicle a short time later. Officers soon located the red Maxima unoccupied near the intersection of S. Locust Grove Road and E. Central Drive, where methamphetamine and fentanyl were discovered inside the vehicle.
Officers from multiple jurisdictions assisted in the search for WATTERS. A short time later, WATTERS was observed returning to his residence in the 2000 block of Luxury Lane and was taken into custody without further incident.
The Meridian/Garden City Impact Team obtained and executed a search warrant for WATTERS’ residence, where they located trafficking quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with cocaine, large sums of cash, and drug paraphernalia.
WATTERS was booked into the Ada County Jail on the following charges:
• Felony Eluding a Peace Officer
• Trafficking in Methamphetamine
• Trafficking in Fentanyl
• Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine)
• Felony Destruction of Evidence
• Possession of Paraphernalia with Intent to Use
There may be additional suspects as the investigation remains ongoing.
