Meridian Man Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon
MERIDIAN, ID – At approximately 12:30 a.m., on October 7, 2025, Meridian Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon in the Village parking lot and N Records Way. Officers contacted three victims in their twenties. The victims stated they were skateboarding in the area when they were confronted by the suspect, later identified as 44-year-old Wayne Alexander GADDIS of Meridian. GADDIS racked a 9mm handgun and pointed it at the three victims. The victims quickly left the area and called 911.
Officers set up a perimeter and were able to locate GADDIS near the Blaze Pizza complex. While attempting to get GADDIS to comply with orders to surrender a Meridian Police officer fired one round from his AR-15. The round missed the suspect. The suspect was arrested without further incident. The loaded handgun with a round in the chamber was recovered from the suspect’s person. Neither GADDIS nor officers were injured during the incident.
GADDIS was booked into the Ada County Jail on three (3) counts of felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon. GADDIS is being held on $250,000 bond.
The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force (CITF) led by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident.
