THIRD QUARTER WATER BILLS ARE IN THE MAIL - and you should receive them shortly. This quarter, we observed above-average water usage, which can be attributed to the below seasonal average of rainfall this summer. The lack of rain led to increased water usage, especially for those using sprinklers. It's worth noting that the third quarter water bills are historically the highest of the year, primarily due to the use of water sprinklers. To help you better understand your usage, the bill includes a graph that shows your water consumption over the past four quarters. Please compare this year’s 3^rd quarter to last years 3^rd for a proper comparison. 2025 numbers are expected to be higher.

 
If you find that your water bill is higher than usual, here are some questions to consider: Did you install any new plantings, shrubs, grass, or trees that required regular watering during the summer? Did you install or refill a pool or have to continually add water to compensate for drought and evaporation? Have you had any leaking, dripping, or running faucets, showers, or toilets? A running toilet can use on average 100 gallons per hour, which can quickly add up. Did you experience any pipe or sprinkler breaks or leaks? Do you have irrigation system water sensors that trigger more frequent watering during a drought and save water during rainy periods? Lastly, do you have a water softener? A leaky seal can lead to higher water usage.
