Traffic Alert: Fort Lee Road Closure
Fort Lee Road from Broad Avenue to Main Street will be milled and paved starting tomorrow (Thursday OCT 9) as part of Bergen County’s road resurfacing program. Weather permitting, the schedule for the road work is:
Milling: Thursday (OCT 9) and Friday (OCT 10) from 7am until approximately 4pm
Paving: Monday (OCT 13) from 7am until approximately 5pm
Fort Lee Road will be closed to all traffic from Broad Avenue to Main Street during the milling and paving. Residents of Warwick Lane, Cumley Terrace, Oratam Terrace and Fort Lee Road will not have access to their homes for approximately 2 hours after Fort Lee Road has been paved to allow the roadway to cool and set. Residents should plan ahead and park their vehicles on other adjacent side streets or the Elm Place Municipal Lot.
The traffic pattern at the Anna C Scott School will be impacted by this project and will require the closure of Highland Street. A message with additional instructions will be sent out to the school community by the school’s administration.
The planned detour for the Fort Lee Road closure uses Broad Avenue, Edsall Blvd, Bergen Blvd and Route 1&9. Glenwood Avenue will be closed at the intersection of Fort Lee Road so use Broad Avenue as an alternate route.
The Department of Public Works (DPW) will start sanitation collections at 6am on Thursday and Friday. Residents in the work zone on Fort Lee Road and the adjacent side streets must place their collections outside before 6am. The DPW will be closed on Monday for Columbus Day.
Additional messages will be sent out with any changes to the schedule or new information. We recognize this is an inconvenience and appreciate your patience as this necessary road improvement project is completed.
