Sheriff Clint Roach reports that deputies of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office (MI) responded to a stabbing and vehicle theft in the area Patterson Hill Rd and Mann St. in Newberg Township.  A 911 call came into the Cass County Central Dispatch on 10-8-25 at 5:40am. On scene, deputies encountered a male subject who told them that he had been riding around with two other male subjects, one of which stabbed him, and both stole his truck.  Law enforcement officers from the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Pokagon Tribal Police, and Village of Cassopolis were able to locate the stolen truck and arrest the two suspects. The stabbing victim went by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital where he is in stable condition.  The names of all persons involved are being withheld until suspects are arraigned on their charges.  The incident remains under investigation.
