Single Vehicle Traffic Collision in Hesperia Claims the Life of a Local Resident

INVOLVED PARTY (1): Driver - Xavier Blackmon, 35-years-old, Resident of Hesperia
INVOLVED VEHICLE (1): Silver 2009 Hyundai Genesis
SUMMARY: On Saturday, October 4, 2025, at approximately 11:39 p.m., deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff's Station and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a single vehicle roll-over crash on Third Avenue, south of Palm Street, in Hesperia.
Upon arrival, Xavier Blackmon was located ejected from the vehicle and in critical condition. Blackmon was transported from the scene to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The preliminary investigation showed the Hyundai was traveling north on Third Avenue, south of Palm Street, and drove off the west roadway edge. The Hyundai collided with a fire hydrant, continued in a northern direction and then collided head on with a telephone pole. The Hyundai rolled and landed on its driver side in a nearby residential property. The investigation is ongoing and it has not been determined if drugs and or alcohol were involved or if speed was a contributing factor.
Third Avenue was closed in the affected area for several hours while deputies from the Hesperia Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) processed the scene.
