Gloucester Township Police Media Release- Teen Arrested Following Motor Vehicle Theft Investigation 10-9-2025
On Monday, October 6, 2025, around 3:00 a.m., the Gloucester Township Police Department received an alert about a stolen motor vehicle in the Lincoln Avenue Blackwood area. The New Jersey State Police spotted the stolen vehicle while traveling on Route 42 and initiated a pursuit. However, the pursuit was abruptly ended due to the suspects’ extremely reckless driving. Camden Metro Officers later located the vehicle and attempted another pursuit, but it was also terminated due to the reckless driving.
Detectives from the Gloucester Township Police Department used Automated License Plate Readers to determine that the vehicle was being operated in Camden City. They informed the Camden County Metro Police Department and the New Jersey State Police of the vehicle’s updated location within the city. Multiple agencies converged on the vehicle’s location and found it being operated by a juvenile. Officers used stationary tire deflation devices to disable the vehicle. Despite the attempt to flee, the vehicle quickly became disabled. The juvenile was subsequently taken into custody.
The juvenile was charged with theft of four motor vehicles from Gloucester Township, two counts of eluding by Camden County Metro Police, one count of resisting by flight, and receiving stolen property by the New Jersey State Police.
