Coastal Weather Advisory
Please be advised of the following anticipated weather impacts provided by the National Weather Service, Jacksonville:
- Due to the anticipated nor'easter that will impact the East Coast, our coastal area will see strengthening onshore winds arrive on Thursday, creating life-threatening rip currents, high surf, coastal flooding during high tides, and potential beach erosion through the upcoming weekend.
- A Wind Advisory is in effect for potential wind gusts of 40-50 mph, from the I-95 corridor to the beaches from Thursday afternoon and into the weekend. Some wind damage is probable with anticipated tree limbs down and a few likely power outages.
- Waves of heavy downpours and isolated embedded thunderstorms are expected along the I-95 corridor on Thursday through Friday night, which could lead to localized flooding, particularly in urban, coastal, and low-lying areas.
