Coastal Weather Advisory

Please be advised of the following anticipated weather impacts provided by the National Weather Service, Jacksonville:

  • Due to the anticipated nor'easter that will impact the East Coast, our coastal area will see strengthening onshore winds arrive on Thursday, creating life-threatening rip currents, high surf, coastal flooding during high tides, and potential beach erosion through the upcoming weekend.
  • A Wind Advisory is in effect for potential wind gusts of 40-50 mph, from the I-95 corridor to the beaches from Thursday afternoon and into the weekend. Some wind damage is probable with anticipated tree limbs down and a few likely power outages.
  • Waves of heavy downpours and isolated embedded thunderstorms are expected along the I-95 corridor on Thursday through Friday night, which could lead to localized flooding, particularly in urban, coastal, and low-lying areas.
Please use caution when traveling on roads that appear flooded, as they could have downed power lines. Please prepare for possible periods of power outages, and secure all pets and other belongings for safety.

Instructions:

Please follow the National Weather Service Jacksonville for the latest information on coastal impacts.
