Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the hours below due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
 
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, October 15, 2025
 
Lincoln Park North between Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Blvd. and Washington St.
Crawford St. between Washington St. and Halsey St.
Halsey St. between W. Kinney St. and Beecher St. and Crawford St.
 
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at Lincoln Park and Halsey St.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
 
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
