Newark Police Welcomes Residents and Visitors To Dispose of Unused Drugs and Used Vape and E-Cigarette Devices on Oct. 25th 
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. announces that Newark Police will participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA’s) National Prescription Drug #TakeBackDay on Saturday, October 25th, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
#TakeBackDay offers a safe and free opportunity for Newark residents and visitors to dispose of unused, expired, or unwanted medications discreetly.
Deposit your unused prescription drugs, vape pens, or other e-cigarette devices anonymously at a receptacle located at one of our locations listed below (Note: Batteries must be removed from devices):
2nd Precinct – 1 Lincoln Avenue
3rd Precinct – 649 Market Street
4th Precinct – 247 16th Avenue
5th Precinct – 480 Clinton Avenue
6th Precinct – 491 Irvington Avenue
7th Precinct – 159 N. 10th Street
9th/Metro Precinct – 22 Franklin Street
Emergency Services Division – 472 Orange Street
Juvenile Services Section – 43 Dickerson Street
Director Miranda urges anyone with information regarding any criminal activity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
