Police Seek Help Locating Irvington Woman Wanted for Questioning in Shooting Investigation
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in locating Melissa Wise, 55, of Irvington, who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred on Monday, October 6, 2025.
At approximately 9:59 p.m., Police responded to the 400 block on Leslie Street following a Shot Spotter notification. Responding Officers located four vehicles that had been struck by gunfire, and property damage due to gunfire at a building in the 300 block of Chancellor Avenue. Two motor vehicle collisions also occurred at the intersection of Leslie Street and Chancellor Avenue as part of this incident, with two drivers striking parked cars. No injuries have been reported.
Detectives investigating this incident are seeking Melissa Wise for questioning.
