Weather Advisory Update: Help Keep Storm Drains Clear Ahead of Nor’easter
In preparation for the Nor’easter expected on Sunday, October 12, and Monday, October 13, residents are asked to help prevent flooding by checking the storm drains near their homes or businesses.
- If it is safe to do so, please clear leaves, sticks, and debris from storm drains to allow water to flow freely.
- If a drain is blocked or cannot be safely cleared, contact the Department of Public Works to report it at 732-775-0900.
- When raking leaves into piles, place loose leaves in the street about 6 inches from the curb and at least 10 feet from storm drains to allow water flow and prevent flooding.
- The Department of Public Works will also be preemptively inspecting and clearing storm drains throughout the city ahead of the storm.
