On November 7, 2023, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide investigators responded to a death investigation in the 800 block of East Avenue P-15, Palmdale, involving the death of a two-year-old male. The child’s death was determined to have been caused by fentanyl ingestion.
After an exhaustive investigation, Homicide Bureau investigators have arrested the child’s mother, Anaie Flores of Palmdale, for 187(a) P.C.
The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
As this is an ongoing investigation, no additional details will be released.

NARRATIVE:
Deputies from the Palmdale Sheriff Station responded to the 800 block of East Avenue P-15, in the city of Palmdale regarding a rescue call. Upon arriving at the location deputies discovered an unresponsive 2-year-old child. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel also responded to the location and performed life saving measures. The child was subsequently transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at approximately 5:07 p.m.
Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the child.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information at this time.
