WEATHER ALERT: NOR’EASTER EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND/PARKING AT MUNICIPAL GROUNDS
PSE&G announced today that its crews are preparing for the approaching Nor’easter expected this weekend. The storm is forecast to bring heavy rain, strong winds, and potential flooding, which could lead to power outages and downed wires. The company emphasized its commitment to safety, storm readiness, and rapid service restoration, and reminded customers to report outages and emergencies directly at PSE&G Outage Reporting.
At the state level, New Jersey has declared a State of Emergency in advance of the storm (Executive Order No. 399). The declaration cites risks of coastal and inland flooding, high surf, and sustained winds of up to 60 mph. Residents are urged to remain alert, monitor official updates, and evacuate if conditions warrant.
As an added precaution, Clark residents living in low-lying areas may park their vehicles in the front lot of the Clark Police Department at 315 Westfield Avenue. Beginning at 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, travel should be avoided to support first responders.
Thank you for your cooperation.
