National Weather Services Issues

Coastal Flood Watch through

6:00 p.m. on Monday (October 13, 2025)

Fair Lawn Emergency Management is continuing to monitor a Nor’easter that will continue to affect our area through the morning of Tuesday, October 14, 2025. Rain will continue on an off through Tuesday morning. The heaviest rain and wind will occur this afternoon (Sunday) through Monday afternoon. Total rainfall is expected to be around 1 -2 inches for the entire event. Runoff may result in minor flash flooding of rivers, small creeks, streams, and other low lying and flood prone locations. Urban flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas is likely. Minor to moderate tidal flooding is possible for this event.  This may occur from this afternoon through Monday evening’s high tide.

Winds will be 10-20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph. Winds may cause down tree limbs, resulting in power outages.

If you experience a power outage, please call PSE&G directly at 1-800-436-7734.  Register for MyAlerts from PSE&G to report outages and receive text/email updates about the status of the power outage. Text "REG" to 4PSEG (47734). Report an outage by texting "OUT" to 4PSEG. Power outages and the power outage map can be found at https://outagecenter.pseg.com/external/default.html

Do not call the Police Department to report a power outage or to ask when power will be restored.

Please be sure to take appropriate mitigation actions to protect flood prone properties.

Fair Lawn Emergency Management will continue to monitor this weather event and will issue additional bulletins as necessary.
