Search Warrant Leads to Barricaded Situation
While investigating a fatal overdose, members of the Sheboygan Police Department and the Sheboygan County Multi-Jurisdictional Enforcement Group executed a search warrant at 929 Michigan Avenue. During the operation, officers encountered resistance from the resident, a 48-year-old Sheboygan man, who fled into the apartment, barricaded the door, and refused to comply with verbal commands to surrender.
After several hours of unsuccessful negotiation attempts, the Sheboygan Police Department activated the Emergency Response Team. The suspect was ultimately taken into custody without incident and transported to the Sheboygan County Detention Center.
The Sheboygan Police Department intends to refer charges to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office, including Recklessly Endangering Safety, multiple counts of Delivery of Fentanyl, and Obstructing an Officer.
We would like to thank the residents and local businesses in the area for their patience and support during this incident. We also extend our appreciation to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, Sheboygan Fire Department, and Plymouth Police Department for their valued assistance.
